This involves reviewing candidate applications and resumes and researching qualifications and credentials.  I have created and administered written, oral and training-experience evaluations, resulting in high level new hires ranging from Dentists to Historic Preservation Specialist.  I conduct statistical item analysis on test items and analyze for future test administration using.  I participate in and develop minutes for departmental staffing meetings.  I interact with various levels of management, staff, and candidates on a daily basis.  I read, interpret, and apply the governing rules and regulations for government human resources.  These resources include Civil Service Regulations, Pennsylvania Home Rule Charter, and other federal, state and local legislation and regulations related to employment testing and job announcement.  I conduct other tasks as assigned.

Case Manager/Social Worker  November 2003 - August 2008

As a child welfare social worker for the City of Philadelphia, I assumed responsibility for the prevention and intervention of child abuse and neglect for families in the Philadelphia region.  My primary duty consists of receiving county generated reports and proceeding to interview and investigate the allegations. I used fair judgment to make determinations in status and disposition of cases.  I document all procedures for the life of the case. I referred clients to community resources and other agencies as needed.  I managed a team of interagency personnel that participate in crises management. I successfully resolved numerous family crisis situations by helping clients modify their attitudes and patterns of behavior.  I developed oral and written communication skills by advocating on behalf of the City of Philadelphia in 150 court proceedings.  I interacted with all levels of management, staff, and clients by organizing and conducting family planning meetings for short and long term goals. I mentored at risk youth through face-to-face and telephone communications. I employed federal and state laws that govern child abuse and prevention methods.  I conducted other duties as assigned.

§   Society of Human Resource Management- As a student member, I participate in career development activities and volunteer for mentoring activities.  I have also attended and received a certificate in Essentials of Human Resource Management in 2007

§    Girl Scouts of Southeastern PA- As a troop leader and co-leader four years. I develop and administer the curriculum for girls aged 5 to 13.  I supervise and coordinate field trips, and have responsibility to coordinate and sell Girl Scout Cookies.  In 2008 and 2009, my troop was the top selling group in the service unit.  I work closely with troop mothers and families to ensure that the girls are doing well in the home and in the troop.
